Dad with tele in 1951674 viewsThis is my dad in 1951 with his telecaster, which he bought new! He played with Bob Wills, Tex Ritter, Floyd Tillman, and Merle Travis, among others! Merle told my dad that he helped design his new telecaster, and asked to play it, which he did! In 1953,he chose family over music, so he sold it. About 10 years ago, I bought it back.THAT was a great day!!! See pics# 53 & 54 For current pics!Serial#1838 Neck#9/27/51 body#9/14/51. Pot#304108

Work in Progress135 viewsThis is a Squier Tele, bought on ebay for £80. So far I've spent around £700 buying various pickups, control knobs, tuners, scratchplate, routing the body for a neck humbucker (TV Jones Classic) etc - plus the most expensive bit has been getting the body resprayed (originally black) but now a lovely deep shade of blue and then double-bound by a professional luthier.
When I get the finished body back all that's left to do is put it all back together... and see if it works! I've bought all gold hardware (bridge, pickups, control plate, knobs etc... even the string tree and mcahine heads. It's going to look great, plus I'm hoping the Seymour Duncan "Hot Stack "bridge and TV Jones Classic neck pickup will sound awesome. Watch this space...Apr 15, 2011
